"I give you a new commandment: love one another. As I have loved you, so you also should love one another. This is how all will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”

Jn 13:31-33a, 34-35

  4. Motherhood and God: Home As Sacred Space
Living Conscientiously We will explore, through our blog posts, facebook, twitter, how the home is the first place we experience the love of God, the love of family and a place of rest and refuse. As moms we know that home is a paradox, it is the source of consistency but is always in a state of flux; and it’s that flux that makes it important to try and have a time for the sacred everyday. And the sacred includes care for ourselves: Body, Mind, and Spirit. Using Ignatian practices we, as moms, can find more of the peace of God in our lives. We see how these practices can help us care for mind, body and spirit. This self-paced program looks at home as the first place we experience the love of God, the love of family and a place of rest and refuse. As moms we know that home is a paradox, it is the source of consistency but is always in a state of flux; and it’s that flux that makes it important to try and have a time for the sacred everyday. And the sacred includes care for ourselves: Body, Mind, and Spirit. Body: Are you taking care of yourself? How does care of your body help you create a home that is a Sacred Space? If we can not care for ourselves, we find it harder to care for others, create an atmosphere that is fulfilling, and a life that is more in balance. Mind: Have you prayed about it? Prayer helps us discern what we are being called to do in any situation. Prayer helps us “keep our calm.” The Spirit: Is it true to your calling? The program is designed to help you bring all aspects of your person: body, mind, and spirit into focus. Each weekday has a specific task to assist you in bringing to your world a greater sense of connection and create a world where love rules over hate.
